Kelly Jones has just been recognised. An earnest young man, with a songwriterly mop of hair, has followed him into On the Beat records, a High Fidelity-style music shop behind London’s Oxford Street. "Can I give you this?: he asks, pressing a CD copy of Daniel Rachel’s A Simple Twist of Folk into the singer’s hand. On closer inspection of the sleeve it seems we have just encountered Daniel Rachel himself. Kelly mumbles bashfully and sticks the disc in his pocket.
