The debut album from former Rachels Basement singer showcases a poetic writing talent. Thirteen articulate and elegant songs move from Waterboys-ish folk pop (Last Time I Danced) to crunchy Beatles-y-rock (Free My Mind) and even Elvis-y-blues (Saturday Morning Sunday Night). Once you get used to his occasionally strangled sounding vocals, theres a real depth of emotion and a great sense of narrative here, whilst the exquisite guitar playing of Marc Olivier acts as a perfect foil. **** ROSIE
